New lane closures for the SH146 project:
UPCOMING TRAFFIC SWITCH AND INTERSECTION CLOSURES:
The City of Kemah continues to monitor the SH-146 Highway Expansion Project developments and their impacts on city operations, visitors, and the citizens of Kemah. As we continue to track these developments, now is a good time to prepare alternative travel plans.

The Texas Department of Transportation has produced the following information:
The Contractor has moved the traffic switch to June 2, 2023, beginning at 6:00 PM. The plan is to switch traffic onto the new northbound freeway starting at Solomon and continuing across the bridge. The traffic switch will reduce traffic to one lane of northbound travel, and the one lane of northbound travel is expected to stay until September 2023. Also, during the traffic switch, we will close the FM 2094 and Bel Rd intersections to reconstruct the intersection. 10th Street in Seabrook will be closed while the Contractor constructs the Seabrook exit ramp off the new express bridge.
These closures are subject to change if needed due to weather, and additional notifications regarding changes or cancellations will be posted when made available.
