The City of Kemah continues to monitor the SH-146 Highway Expansion Project developments and their impacts on city operations, visitors, and the citizens of Kemah. As we continue to track these developments, now is a good time to prepare alternative travel plans.

The Texas Department of Transportation has produced the following information:
The Contractor plans to switch traffic onto the new northbound freeway starting at Solomon and continuing across the bridge. The traffic switch will reduce traffic to one lane of northbound travel beginning May 30, 2023, at 8:00 PM. The one lane of travel northbound is expected to stay until September 2023. Also, during the traffic switch, we will close the FM 2094 intersection to reconstruct the intersection; Bel Rd will remain closed as well; thanks.
These closures are subject to change if needed due to weather, and additional notifications regarding changes or cancellations will be posted when made available.
