On July 18, 2025, representatives from the City of Kemah and the Kemah Police Department attended a statewide meeting to provide information and address questions regarding the funding. During this meeting, the Kemah Police Department presented sufficient evidence and data, which convinced the MVCPA committee to approve the funding request.
The City of Kemah sought approximately $66,051 to purchase additional License Plate Readers and a safety trailer. This equipment will assist the Kemah Police Department in combating automotive and catalytic converter theft, while also enhancing intelligence sharing with neighboring agencies. License Plate Readers play a crucial role in helping law enforcement solve various crimes. The Kemah Police Department and Chief Raymond Garivey are grateful for this opportunity made available to the City of Kemah.
