2026 HOT Sponsorship Application Information

Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) sponsorships are designed to promote and advertise events held in Kemah, with the goal of attracting visitors from outside our local area.

All organizations wishing to request a HOT sponsorship must submit a completed application during the open enrollment period. (Enrollment is currently closed)

We welcome and encourage all interested applicants to apply. However, please be aware that the funding process is competitive due to limited resources.

HOT Sponsorship Application Process

The application process will consist of the following stages:

  • Application Deadline - All applications must be received by the Kemah Tourism Office no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 1, 2025.
  • Estimated Review by City Council - Applications will be reviewed and considered by City Council during September 2025.
  • Notification of Award - Organizations will be notified within 10 business days of City Council’s decision.
  • Disbursement of Funds - Organizations may request an advance of up to 50% of their approved funding amount prior to the event.  The remaining funds will be disbursed on a reimbursement basis upon submission and verification of the following:
    • A completed post-event report
    • A final invoice
    • Proof of sponsor branding at the event
    • Proof of receipt of goods or services

Reimbursements will be processed within 30 days of receipt of all required documentation.
